Circular Economy

The circular economy is a model of production and consumption which involves extending the life-cycle of products and materials as long as possible.  This is done through sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling, thereby reducing waste and enhancing material and financial efficiencies.

The organizations in South Ken ZEN+ are working together to drive progress toward a more sustainably, circular economy model by combining our resources and working together. We will do this by enhanding efficiency, reducing waste and pinpointing areas with the most potential for improvement.

While some of our members are already integrating circular economy practices into their operations, others have just begun. By sharing insights and expertise, we will help each other move forward more quickly and make a bigger impact.

A significant portion of an organization's environmental footprint often comes from its supply chain. Since many of us share common suppliers, we have a unique opportunity to accelerate our collective progress by pooling resources, creating economies of scale, and working together towards common goals. We are actively exploring ways to collaborate with our suppliers to reduce waste and extend the life cycle of materials.

Take a look at some examples of what is already happening in the neighbourhood.
